Delores Jean (Tisserand) Swift

Delores Jean Swift, 84, passed away on Thursday,  April 7, 2016 at Oakview Heights in Mt. Carmel, Illinois.

 She was born on Tuesday, September 29, 1931 in Evansville, Indiana, the daughter of Theodore H. and Delphina Tisserand.

            She married Donald Gray Swift on Wednesday, January 4, 1950. They had five children, Donald S. (Nancy) Swift, Dwight (Kim) Swift, David Swift, Devan (Stacey) Swift, and DeAnn James.

            Left to cherish her memories are her children Donald, Dwight, Devan and DeAnn; fourteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren, who called her Grandee.

            Preceding her in death was her husband Donald and her son David Swift, her parents and two brothers.

            Delores was of the Catholic faith and a devout homemaker for her family.

            Delores enjoyed working with all ages of people from Wabash County.  She worked as a day care teacher and then as an activity director for the Shurtleff Nursing Home.  She touched people of all ages in Wabash County.

She enjoyed camping with her family and friends. She spent the winters in Holiday, Florida for 20 years. Delores was an animal lover. Her pets were her constant companions.

            Family and friends will gather to celebrate Dee’s life on Saturday, April 9 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at Devan and Stacey’s church house.
