Carmon Virginia Wilkinson

Carmon Virginia Wilkinson, 90, of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, November 10, 2015, at Oakview Heights Continuous Care surrounded by her loving family.

            She was born Friday, January 16, 1925, the daughter of Virgil and Cora (Davis) Carroll in Mt. Carmel.  Virginia was a homemaker.  She was a member of the Eastern Star and loved to crochet.

            Left to cherish her memories are her children Patricia and husband Ron Peach of Mt. Carmel, Ralph and wife Sue Smith of Upper Sandusky, Ohio and Steve and wife Kathy Smith of Logansport, Indiana; eight grandchildren and twenty eight great-grandchildren.

            Preceding Virginia in death were her parents, first husband Arthur L. “Sike” Smith, second husband William Wilkinson, grandchild Gail Osmon and great-grandchildren Dustin and Amber Osmon. 

            Visitation will be Sunday, November 15, 2015, from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Short Funeral Home, 527 N. Mulberry Street.  The funeral service will commence at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Bill Reed conducting the service.  Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Cemetery, 1827 College Drive.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions      to the Wabash County Animal Shelter, 11336 N. 1550 Blvd., Mt. Carmel, Illinois.  Envelopes will also be available at the funeral home.
