Alta Genevieve (Goodson) Krug

Genevieve Krug, 91, of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, peacefully passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2016, at Oakview Heights.

She was born July 7, 1924, in Mt. Carmel, Illinois, the daughter of Dolphus and Adeline (Fleenor) Goodson.  Genevieve was married to Robert A. Krug who predeceased her in 1976. 

Genevieve was a member of the Free Methodist Church in Mt. Carmel.  She worked as a cook and for the nursing home for many years.

Left to cherish her memory is her children, Robert D. and wife Patricia Krug, Sr., Franklin D. and wife Paula Krug, Erma Jane and husband Lloyd Deisher, all of Mt. Carmel and Nina Mae and husband Scott Alka of Cumming, Georgia; fourteen grandchildren and several great and great great grandchildren. 

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, brothers, Basil, Sr., Alvin, Bill and Donald Goodson and a sister, Nina Pollard.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, March 26, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. in Highland Memorial Cemetery.  There will be no public visitation. 

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Free Methodist Church, 412 Poplar Street, Mt. Carmel, Illinois 62863.  Envelopes will be available at Short Funeral Home and at the graveside service.
