Alice Marcella (Kling) Kuehling

Alice Marcella Kuehling (nee Kling) passed away about 9:33 a.m. Tuesday, December 6, 2016, at Deaconess Main Campus in Evansville, IN, surrounded by her loving family.

Alice was born November 11, 1929 in Mt. Carmel, IL, the daughter of Joe and Katherine (Otto) Kling.  She raised her daughter Kathryn Kay James in Mt. Carmel, IL. 

She had five siblings: Mary Kathryn, Amelia Eva, William Martin, Anna Mae and Josephine Kling.

Alice worked at Hurst Manufacturing in Princeton, IN, for thirty three years, retired and worked for another eight years as a CNA for the local nursing homes where she always said, “I love taking care of the old people.”  She attended First General Baptist Church with her daughter and son-in-law.  He grandchildren called her “Granny Alice.”

Left to share memories of Alice is her daughter Kathy (Pete) James; granddaughters, Kimberly (Mark) Marvel of Princeton, IN, and Marcella Ruth Hutchings of Clarksville, IN; great-grandchildren, Zackary Peter Marvel, IU Bloomington, IN, Kathryn Elza Marvel of Princeton, IN, Timothy James Marvel also of Princeton, IN, James Pryce Hutchings and Alyssa Claire Hutchings, Manchester, TN; and, sisters, Anna Mae Kohlbecker and Amelia Eva Schuster.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Mary Kathryn Russell, William Martin Kling and Josephine Kling.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

There will be a public visitation of family and friends Saturday, December 10, 2016, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Short Funeral Home, 527 N. Mulberry Street, Mt. Carmel, IL.

The funeral service will be Sunday, December 11, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at Short Funeral Home with burial following at Highland Memorial Cemetery.
